RYA Practical Sailing Courses

At BOSS we offer a full range of practical sailing courses. For beginners who want to learn how to sail, the RYA Start Yachting weekend offers a taste of what sailing and yacht cruising is all about. To become a useful crew member the RYA Competent Crew Course can be taken over five days or weekends.

Once you have some sailing experience then the next step is to attend a RYA Day Skipper Course. This can be attended over five days or weekends.

For the more experienced we offer the five day RYA Coastal Skipper Course which trains you in the techniques of coastal and offshore skippering and passage making.

Exam preparation courses for the RYA Coastal Skipper certificate of competency and the Yachtmaster Offshore certificate of competency are available to help you prepare for assessment by an independent RYA examiner. These courses are normally taken over five days with the examination following on after the course.
