The Fastrak to Yachtmaster Offshore course from BOSS is one of the UK’s original and most comprehensive professional sail training programmes, designed to take dedicated students from beginner or intermediate level through to Yachtmaster Offshore standard within an intensive structured training environment. Running over eighteen weeks, the programme combines practical sailing experience, advanced navigation theory and offshore passage making with extensive instructor-led coaching and real-world seamanship development.

Designed for aspiring professional skippers, career changers, gap year sailors and ambitious cruising sailors, the course develops the practical and theoretical knowledge required for offshore skippering, Yachtmaster preparation and commercial sailing pathways. Students undertake extensive time afloat aboard cruising yachts operating in the Solent, English Channel and offshore waters while progressively building miles, confidence and skippering ability.

The programme includes RYA practical and shorebased courses, offshore passages, advanced navigation training and Yachtmaster preparation, creating a structured route towards professional seamanship and offshore competence. Small group sizes ensure high levels of instructor attention and practical involvement throughout the course.

Delivered by BOSS Sailing, an established RYA Recognised Training Centre based at Hamble Point Marina, the course offers an immersive and highly practical route towards advanced sailing qualifications, offshore cruising and potential commercial sailing opportunities.
