DofE – Open Silver Sailing Expeditions

Fancy doing something other than walking for your DofE Silver expedition – why not give sailing a go? There’s no pitching tents or muddy fields and definitely no lugging heavy rucksacks around on a sailing expedition! As a DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP), we can provide individuals with the necessary skills and experience to carry out a fulfilling and exciting Silver sailing expedition.

Join us for 7 days and complete your training, practice and assessed expedition modules all in one go. Open to individuals, come and enjoy the freedom of a sailing expedition. Your own bunk, (you can even bring your own duvet!) a fully functioning galley (kitchen) and a heads (toilet) on-board – what’s not to like!

No previous sailing experience is necessary to participate. The expeditions take place on coded yachts and are fully supervised by our qualified RYA instructors. Our cruising ground is on the South Coast of England, where you will sail anywhere between Chichester Harbour in the East to Poole and Weymouth in the West.

Our 7 day live aboard package, is fully inclusive. We even take care of all the catering for you! All participants will gain the RYA Start Yachting certificate, after the 2 day training module. Your Silver Sailing expedition fully meets the DofE criteria

No previous sailing experience is needed. The RYA Competent Crew course is designed for complete beginners, and your instructor will guide you through everything step by step. By the end of the course, you should feel confident helping to sail the yacht, handling ropes, steering and taking part in everyday life on board.
