RYA Training Course

RYA First Aid Course

The RYA First Aid Course from BOSS Sailing is a one day marine first aid course designed specifically for sailors, motor cruisers, offshore crew and anyone spending time on the water. The course provides practical first aid training focused on the challenges of dealing with medical emergencies afloat, where immediate professional assistance may not always be available.

Suitable for beginners and experienced sailors alike, the course covers essential lifesaving skills including CPR, drowning recovery, hypothermia treatment, bleeding control, burns, shock and emergency procedures at sea. Particular emphasis is placed on the practical realities of administering first aid in confined onboard environments and during offshore situations

The RYA First Aid certificate is recognised for Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore examinations and also meets the requirements for many commercial endorsements, instructors and offshore racing programmes.

Delivered at Hamble Point Marina by BOSS Sailing, an established RYA Recognised Training Centre, the course combines professional instruction with realistic marine-focused scenarios designed to build confidence and practical emergency response skills for use afloat.

The RYA Small Craft First Aid certificate awarded upon successful completion of the course is valid for three years and is suitable for those who wish to take the RYA / MCA Coastal Skipper or RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Offshore examination. Other First Aid certificates may be accepted by the RYA but please contact us before you arrive for an exam preparation course and we will check for you.
