Ladies Experience Sailing Course

The Women’s Experience Sailing Course is a relaxed and enjoyable sailing weekend designed for women who want to spend more time on the water while building confidence and practical sailing experience. The course is ideal for those who have already completed an introductory course such as Competent Crew or Start Yachting, as well as sailors looking to refresh existing skills in a supportive all-female environment.

The weekend focuses on practical sailing and participation rather than formal certification. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, crew members take part in helming, sail trim, pilotage, anchoring, passage planning and general seamanship while cruising around the Solent and South Coast. The emphasis is on gaining experience through hands-on sailing and developing confidence onboard in real cruising conditions.

The course also provides an excellent opportunity to spend time aboard a cruising yacht with like-minded sailors while enjoying some of the best sailing waters on the South Coast. Depending on conditions, the weekend may include coastal passages, harbour manoeuvres, anchoring and evening stops in one of the many Solent ports or anchorages.

Whether preparing for further RYA courses or simply looking to gain more practical time afloat, the weekend provides valuable sailing experience in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere.
