DofE - Sailing Expedition Training

Pre - Expedition training is vitally important for all DofE participants and when you choose a sailing expedition there will be lots of new and exciting skills to master. Maritime navigation is different from land based navigation so we have an exciting online interactive e-learning programme which will help you get familiar with Essential Navigation and Seamanship skills before you even arrive. If you already have experience of maritime Navigation then we also offer online distance learning programmes at RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster level.

Training - Theoretical

Navigation and theory courses are available at a number of levels. These courses can be taken at home (distance learning) or by attending a course at our base on the South Coast.

Training - Practical Seamanship

Practical sailing tuition is available from our UK base and at other overseas locations prior to your expedition. This training may count towards a number of RYA qualifications depending on your previous experience.

Practice Sailing Expeditions

  • Three and four day practice expeditions in the UK; Solent; south coast and Cross Channel to France
