Arrival:
Evening - Arrive at Hamble Point - Introduction to yacht. Safety briefing. Explanation to where everything is kept. General safety brief and discussion on the week ahead.
20:00 Ashore for a drink, bite to eat and get to know the Skipper and other people on the cruise.
Sleep aboard the yacht.
Day One:
Wake up -Early Start. Preparation to depart and deck briefing.
Depart for either Cherbourg or Alderney. Practice: Conventional and electronic navigation. Course to steer, Estimated positions, Traffic Separation Scheme and collision avoidance. Making landfall
Pilotage techniques. Moor up.
Day Two
Wake up and have breakfast
Passage to St Peters Port, Guernsey - sail down either the Alderney Race or the Swinge - either way the tides are phenomenal! Intricate pilotage southbound through the Little Russel. Overnight in the outer harbour or marina. Explore Ashore.
Day Three
Wake up and have breakfast, wander ashore for showers.
Sail to Sark via inshore passages south of Herm - Anchor in Dixcart bay, Creux harbour or moor at Maseleine having sailed through the very narrow Gulliot passage. Lunch and explore ashore. Sail inshore around North Sark and pass through the Goulet passage and overnight on mooring buoy or anchor at Harve Gosselain.
Day Four
Wake up and have breakfast, wander ashore.
Sail across the Great Russel more intricate pilotage to Rosierre Steps, Herm. Anchor for lunch and explore ashore. Evening sail to St Peters Port.
Day Five
Wake up and have breakfast. Day ashore and explore St Peters Port. Evening sail up to Alderney on the tide. Mooring Buoy overnight
Day Six
Wake up and have leisurely breakfast, wander ashore. Explore Alderney. Late afternoon - Passage planning for night sail back across the Channel. Evening meal onboard - depart on overnight Cross Channel passage - Watch keeping.
Day Seven
Arrive off the Needles early hours of the morning in time to catch the flood tide up the Solent back to Hamble. Pack up, Clean up, debrief, logbooks and depart
