RYA First Aid Course
RYA First Aid is a one day course which covers basic First Aid for seafarers
This shore based course provides an introduction to First Aid and lifesaving skills for all those who spend time on the water and is a requirement for; Yachtmaster exam candidates, RYA Instructors and seafarers who hold a commercial endorsement. The course will provide you with sufficient knowledge to take immediate life saving action as well as how to deal with less serious injuries at sea.
The RYA First Aid course includes;
Asphyxia
Burns and Scalds
Unconsciousness
Heart attacks
Shock
Hypothermia
Drowning and Resuscitation
First Aiders responsibility
The RYA Small Craft First Aid certificate awarded upon successful completion of the course is valid for three years and is suitable for those who wish to take the RYA / MCA Coastal Skipper or RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Offshore examination. Other First Aid certificates may be accepted by the RYA but please contact us before you arrive for an exam preparation course and we will check for you. Alternatively, if you have a certificate that you consider equivilent to the RYA First aid certificate feel free to contact the RYA training department directly to check with them.
