In order to make joining us as simple as possible, we have put together this Joining Pack.

Course Timings:

Arrival - 09:00hrs

Departure - 16:30hrs

You should aim to arrive at our training facility in Hamble by 08:45hrs. The departure time on the last day of your course is around 16:00 -16:30hrs. Yachts are back at our base from 15:00hrs for clearing up the yacht, debriefs, the signing of logbooks and issuing certificates.

Parking:

Hamble Point marina has free parking. No permits are required and there is no allocated parking. It is simply a case of finding a space!

Onboard Accommodation:

Accommodation is provided onboard, for all practical courses. We do not pre-book cabins or bunk allocations. Allocations are done on your arrival onboard, to best suit the make up of the crew for that course. Regrettably, we do not offer, nor do we charge a premium for single cabin occupancy. You may be asked to share a cabin, with someone of the same gender. Ordinarily, this will be the main saloon area, or the fore cabin which has single berths.

Catering:

Food onboard including vegetarian and Vegan options are included in the cost of the course. On a five day course & on a three day weekend, students should allow for one evening meal ashore.  All other catering is provided onboard.

Please make us aware of your dietary requirements prior to the course. We always do our best to accommodate other dietary needs, however we would ask you to contact us to discuss your requirements. Please be advised, there is a surcharge to cover any specific dietary requirements; where different foods need to be purchased to that which we provide on board. This includes gluten and dairy free alternatives. If you prefer, we can provide you with a list of specific items and you are welcome to bring along these to supplement the catering onboard.

Wet Weather Gear:

Wet weather gear sets (Jackets & salopettes) are available to hire for £7.50 per day.

Certificates:

Some RYA certificates require a passport photograph. You will be advised in advance if this is required. If a photograph is requred, please remember to bring a printed one with you and not a digital photograph. Regrettably, we are unable to issue your certificate without this. If you provide us with a photograph retrospectively, then there will be a charge of £10 to send your certificate by recorded delivery.

Mooring fees:

Mooring fees on RYA practical courses are split between students on board. For a 5-day course during high season, you should allow around £30 - £40 for the duration of your course.
